What is the difference between E-Bikes, Pedelecs, Speed-pedelecs, Mopeds?

Type 1 low-speed pedal-assisted electric bicycles: Assistance stops at 20mph. All SCOTT bikes are CLASS 1.

Type 2 low-speed throttle-assisted electric bicycles. Assistance stops at 20mph. Compared to class 1 the bike can be equipped with a throttle in addition to the pedals.

Type 3 speed pedal-assisted electric bicycles: Assistance stops at 28mph. Compared to class 1 the bike can be equipped with a throttle in addition to the pedals.
